Cockroaches are both repulsive and invasive, and are hard to get rid of once they are in your home. However, some natural products can be used to drive them away!
Check out some of these solutions.
The cleaning properties of sodium bicarbonate are well-known. But did you know that this very basic ingredient is also very effective against cockroaches? All you have to do is mix the equivalent of one glass of sodium bicarbonate with one glass of powdered sugar. Split the mixture into small containers and place them in warm, humid rooms and in the kitchen. Cockroaches will be attracted to the sugar, and the bicarbonate, once ingested, will eradicate them.
Known for its insecticidal properties, boric acid is highly recommended against cockroaches. One tablespoon of boric acid can be mixed with one tablespoon of sweetened condensed milk. Divide the paste into several containers and place them in the areas affected by cockroaches. This process should be repeated every three weeks to eliminate the second generation of cockroaches.
If the cockroach infestation is in its initial phase, you can eliminate them by pouring a few drops of lemon eucalyptus essential oil on strips of newspaper. Place them over the places where the cockroaches roam. Alternatively, you can put a few drops of lavender essential oil on cotton balls and place them around the house, especially in your cupboards. Lastly, spray white vinegar on the bottom of your walls, underneath your furniture, and beneath the sink where cockroaches are found. The smell will drive them away. All naturally.
