Cleaning up… is often a burden. Yet you can make this task less of a hassle, or even more of a pleasure. Simply avoid a few old-fashioned mistakes. Let’s take a look at some of them.

Filthy dust

The urge to clean arises when dust settles. In fact, it is the main cause of all grime. It is all around us and likes to get on all surfaces. The usual way to get rid of it is to use a damp cloth.

However, this is the most common mistake, as the water can stick to the dirt and form stains. A microfibre cloth and a dusting spray are a better choice. Above all, avoid pouring the cleaning agent directly onto unvarnished surfaces.

Give it time

It is crucial to let the cleaning products sit for as long as possible to achieve optimal results. Scrubbing and rinsing too soon may not produce the desired effects, while leaving them on for a prolonged period of time may affect the surface. It is advisable to refer to the instructions on the back of the cleaning product packaging.

Bleach… Caution!

Bleach is well-known for its efficiency against bacteria. However, it is important to highlight that it is not always recommended when cleaning. It contains no surfactants and is dangerous for your health and for the environment. Instead, you can use a natural-based product, such as vinegar solution or diluted baking soda.

Good weather isn’t so good

Finally, heat tends to dry out the detergent quickly, which is why it is not recommended to clean the windows on sunny days. Even if the sun helps you see the dirt better, wait for cooler days to do these delicate tasks.
